Occupied since 1400 BCE, Chiapa de Corzo, Mexico is an important archeological site. In 1528, it was the site of the first Spanish city founded in Chiapas. The Spanish,however, quikcly moved into the mountains to found what is now San Cristbal de las Casas, leaving Chiapa to the indigenous population and the Dominican
