The sides of the basket are finished with two large circular ash ring handles which are bound with ash splints

It features pretty incised detailing around the perimeter of the top

and various leaf and flower forms

but I have learned that it is in fact a Peruvian Chancay burial doll

While this piece definitely shows its age

I believe this carving has some age to it, with a varnish finish giving it a bit of sheen, and would I think be especially great hung from one nail on on the wall, straight down like
