so it was no longer suitable for loading into the chamber of the gun

so the original cartouche by the trigger is clear with an 1898 date

The vacuum tubes inside still show their shiny “getter flash” inside coating

with a pressed paper stiffener supporting the crown

This is very good condition Silver Grade General Assault Badge with a Hollow Back and pin attachment. The badge measures approximately 2 1 8" x 1 5 8", and is in very good condition. Like most that we see, the badge has lost most of the original silver wash on the front of the badge, with some retained on the upper left portion of the wreath. The worn areas now show a dull oxidized zinc patina, while the rear is
