and the structure of the super tight fitting lid

19 3/8” x 12 7/8”  and in good condition

) Such an elegant form suggesting a bird through the sparest of means (it feels to me quite reminiscent of early Native American bird stones)

Red Shoe Lacquered Papier Mache Snuff Box ceramic serving pot and this is a fantasticI've bought and sold a few lacquered papier mache snuff boxes, shoe shaped and otherwise, but I've never seen a red one, with a heel to boot, making one think of Dorothy clicking her heels to get back home. Just right. 3 1 8 l x 1 w x 1 1 4 t and in very good structural condition. with some loss to the red lacquer as evident, all to good in my opinion, as it has travelled long and far. Early mid 19th c. I believe.
