This is an outstanding and service worn example of a British officers small sword with a lovely faceted pommel. The faceting of the pommel in this style was done around the 1770s, making this a fantastic American Revolutionary War issue piece. During the Revolutionary War, British officers and some enlisted men carried small swords, which were lighter, thrusting swords used as a secondary weapon. These were distinct
