Original Imperial German WWI M1917 Ledermaske Gas Mask with Can French Ordnance Appears to be in perfect

Appears to be in perfect functioning condition and is clearly marked in a line across the top of the octagonal barrel -

- Right shoulder bears an incredible Italian made hand painted leather State of Texas Flag with multi-color bead border

The Germans withdrew before the division could counterattack but inflicted 634 casualties

along with both lines of patent information still mostly legible

though it does show a bit of crumpling

This model of Gas Schutzmaske (Gas Protection Mask) was introduced in 1917, and was known as the Ledermaske due to its leather body construction.
