I purchased this piece at an antique shop in Maine and would guess it dates to the 1930s or 1940s

and I've included a photo of some cigarette cards incorporating his images--but I'll take this watercolor of a Lynx done after him any day

To me its got a bit of a William Hawkins energy to it completely alive, with the house feeling as much of a protagonist in its own story as any human might be. And the picket fence too!
