This is just a lovely example of the classic double barrel "Coach Gun", or Stagecoach Shotgun. These were shortened shotguns intended for close quarters use, and were kept inside the coach. Anyone who attempted to rob the Stagecoach would be in for quite the surprise when they forced open the door.
