This is a scarce piece, the first of its kind we have seen, a 1944 dated German pickaxe with a 3 letter code ffy for Joh. Krumpholz of Durrenwaiderhammer Bayern, a known toolmaker which is still manufacturing tools to this day. The head appears to have been repainted.
