The grip plates are the black checkered variety and are in excellent condition with the exception of the reverse that is missing a section

It is marked along the lower edge: Nr. 1830 Oberkommando Der Kriegsmarine Berlin 1943 It shows a map of the world with a red line plotting a circumnavigation across the globe.
