Constructed of bronzed magnetic metal, the obverse bearing a stylized map of the Kuban region, topped by an inscription of KUBAN and a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, flanked by a date of 1943, fixed with all four reverse attachment prongs to a magnetic metal backplate with a dark grey wool backer, unmarked, the shield measuring 52. 00 mm (w) x 61. 93 mm (h), with some oxidation evident to the shield, in
