Constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with horizontal pinback, the obverse overlaid by a raised swastika, in turn bearing central dual Sig runes situated within a circular oak leaf wreath, the reverse overlaid by a raised number 8, in turn bearing an inscription of FR TREUE DIENSTE IN DER SS (FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE IN
