Constructed of silvered bronze, consisting of a Maltese Cross with pebbled arms, the obverse with a central date of 1939 within a laurel wreath, with crossed swords piercing the centre, the reverse with a barrel hinge and tapering vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked, measuring 49. 70 mm (w) x 49. 34 mm (h), weighing 22. 6 grams, in extremely fine condition.
