Constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with horizontal pinback, the obverse bearing a raised swastika with ribbed arms, overlaid by a raised oak leaf wreath with central double Sig runes, the reverse with a raised number 8, overlaid by an inscription of FR TREUE DIENSTE IN DER SS (FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE IN THE SS), unmarked,
