Footnote: The Dufferin Rifles of Canada originated in Brantford, Ontario on September 28, 1866 when the 38th Brant Battalion of Infantry was authorized to be formed. It was re designated the 38th Brant Battalion of Infantry on November 30, 1866, the 38th Brant Battalion of Rifles on
