Silver medal bearing bust of Napoleon III, marked BARRE on obverse. On reverse, bearing Expedition Due Mexique and hallmarked with an eagles head. Original Ribbon. Measuring 30. 59mm (w) x 34. 92mm (h) and weighing at 16. 2 grams. Footnote: The Expedition to Mexico Commemorative Medal was instituted on August 29, 1863 and awarded for service in the Mexican Expedition of 1862 1863.
